The 130 metre high metal structure of cylindrical shape terminating in a glass sphere was designed by Spanish designer Alberto Domingo Cabo. It was constructed during 2010-2011. Metal spiral hoops of DNA shape, surrounding the reticular surface of the Tower as well as 33 letters of the Georgian alphabet fixed to them symbolize the uniqueness of the Georgian identity. Different parts of a functioning glass sphere are connected to each other by a set in panoramic and internal lifts. It is intended to open a restaurant, an observatory and a TV studio on different rotatable platforms.
Near the tower stands a kinetic statue “Ali and Nino” designed by Georgian sculptor Tamar Kvesitadze. Openwork figures of a woman and a man moving towards each other represent the idea of love.
